The Loyalty of Our Heart

God is constantly searching the whole earth to find people whose hearts are completely His. When He finds them, He gives them His strong support. (II Chronicles 16:9) King Asa found this out when he failed to trust the Lord completely by depending on the King of Aram or Syria, instead of crying out to God for His help. Asa acted foolishly by not completely trusting God, so he had wars the rest of his reign. Is your heart completely His?

It is easy to have a divided heart. We can partially trust God, while we trust in other things or people. That incomplete trust in the Lord is really a degree of unbelief. That causes us to act foolishly, and it causes God to have to punish us in some way. We must do whatever it takes to give our hearts completely to Him every day.

The great thing about this promise is that God's strong support is automatic for those He finds have a heart that is completely His. Therefore, we need not fret, and we need not doubt the strong support of God, if our hearts are completely His. Therefore, one of our main aims in life must be to have a time with the Lord every morning, in which we focus on His will, and we assure Him that we setting our hearts completely on Him. Then, He will take care of us the rest of the day with His mighty hand.

Tomorrow, I intend to read II Chronicles 17-20.
