The Sun Stopped in the Middle of the Sky
What is the greatest miracle in the Bible? I am not sure how we could gauge that. However, I know that when Joshua asked for more hours to avenge their enemies, and God granted him 24 more hours of sunlight that it was a fantastic miracle. (Joshua 10:13) Think about the power of God to stop the sun from going down for a whole day.
We all know that our sun does not move, but the earth spins on its axis and revolves around the sun. This makes it appear to us that the sun is moving, but it is not. We are moving. Therefore, God must have stopped the earth from turning for a day. That would have caused the sun to stop in the middle of the sky, and it would have given Joshua's men plenty of daylight to avenge the enemies. That is beyond amazing, isn't it? Then, just to think that it happened in answer to one man's prayer.
This should show us that God is the Creator. He can do whatever He desires with His creation, since He is all-powerful and all-wise. This is our God, so why would we ever doubt that He can take care of our problems? We should never doubt Him, but always believe that with the Lord, all things are possible. That should cause us to pray more fervently, and to trust Him to do what is best for His kingdom and for His children.
