Knowing God
Moses was a very blessed prophet of God. He knew God face to face. (Deuteronomy 34:10) He did not just receive a burden or an inspiration of a message to deliver to the people. He met with God, so that He heard God speak to Him in a personal way. He knew God, and God knew Moses. He had a close relationship with God. What type of relationship do you have with the Lord? We all need to ask ourselves that question.
In the Old Testament time in which Moses and the other prophets lived, the Holy Spirit did not indwells individual believers. Instead, He came upon kings and prophets to empower and guide them to know what to do and what to say. Now, all believers have the Spirit living in us, and we can have a close relationship with God, hearing from Him very distinctly. However, a close relationship is not automatic. Like Moses was very close to God, we can be very close by allowing His Spirit to control us and fill us. When we do, God is pleased to meet with us and reveal Himself to us in a special way. That is the greatest blessing we can have as believers. Have you experienced knowing God that way? If not, I would encourage you to give yourself to Him fully today.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Joshua 1-3.
