Our Trustworthy God
Trust is only as good as the person in whom we put our trust. If that person is capable and reliable, then our trust bears fruit. If they are not capable or reliable, our trust does not brings forth what we were expecting. The great thing about the One True God is that He is always trustworthy. Even the pagan prophet Balaam knew this. (Numbers 23:19) His insight is for all of us.
God is not a man that He should lie. He never lies. All of his promises always come true. If we put out trust in His word or His character, we will never be disappointed with Him. Also, God never needs to repent from any of His actions or words. He never sins. He always does the right thing. In fact, if He said it, He will do it. He will always follow through on what He says.
When you add all of that up, it equals a totally trustworthy God. We are not to try to get Him to do our will. We are to seek to know His will and His Word. Then, we know we can trust Him fully to accomplish all He has said. That is the Rock upon Whom we build our lives. If we do this, we will never be let down by God.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Numbers 25-27.
