Like Sheep which have No Shepherd
People need leaders. They need godly leaders who will care for them and lead them in the will of God. Without leaders a group of people can be like sheep which have no shepherd. That is why before the death of Moses, he asked God to appoint a man over the sons of Israel, so they would not be without a leader. (Numbers 27:16,17) We need to consider how important this is for all of us.
Sheep can't find food, water, or shelter. They are defenseless. They must have a loving shepherd to lead them in all they do. As believers, we have the Lord as our Shepherd. He will never lead us astray, and He will always feed us well with His Word. However, we need human leaders, too. A country needs the right types of leaders, as well as a church. Leaders do not hinder people, but they help them reach their potential. Godly leaders, like Joshua, lead the people to be victorious over their enemies and to possess all God has for them. Please, pray for your leaders. Then follow them knowing they are gifts from God to enhance our lives and help us be fruitful for the Lord.
