Worthy is The Lamb
Christmas is all about Jesus. On this day we think of Him as a baby born in a manger, even though He is the Eternal Lord of Lords. The incarnation of God is an amazing miracle. However, when we think of Jesus, we should also think of Him as the Lamb of God, sent to take on human flesh so He could die as the sacrifice for all of the sins of the world. (Revelation 5:11,12) That is why Christmas is so special. He is not just a baby. He is the Lamb. We should worship Him on Christmas and all year long for coming to save us.
The apostle John saw a vision of heaven while on the prison Isle of Patmos. It was a vision of heaven and what would happen in the future. He saw the throne of God and One who sat on the throne, and he also saw the Lamb. Then, he saw an innumerable host of angels, along with the four creatures and the elders, all worshiping the Lamb who was slain. They recognized that He was worthy of power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, and blessing because of His sacrifice. What a worship service we will have in heaven!
Yes, Jesus is worthy. The question is this, "Have you bowed before Him in repentance and faith to acknowledge that He is the Only One who can save you from your sins? Have you surrendered to Him as the Lord of your life?" That is what Christmas is about. I pray you will do it today, if you have never taken that step. You will never regret it.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Revelation 6-8.
