Jesus is Almighty God

The babe in the manger was the eternal Creator of the universe. (Revelation 1:8) The apostle John knew that from his days of walking with Jesus as one of the 12 disciples. However, Jesus made it very clear, when He appeared to John on the Island of Patmos on the Lord's Day. I believe this verse will help us prepare for Christmas.

Jesus is eternal. He did not come into existence when the Holy Spirit overshadowed the virgin Mary. The Holy Spirit's miracle was to allow the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End to enter human flesh to become fully God and fully man. Jesus had no beginning, and He will have no end. He was outside of time and space until He came into this world.

Jesus is the Great "I Am." He is and He was, and He is to come. I Am is the name God gave to Moses at the burning bush. Here Jesus affirmed to John the same reality. Jesus always is, and He is all we need.

Jesus is the Almighty. That means He could not have been created, or whoever created Him would have been more powerful than He is. In fact, that is the proof of Jesus being eternal also. Therefore, Jesus revealed clearly to John and to all of us that He is Almighty God.

This Christmas will you bow before the Almighty God just like the shepherds and the Wise men did so long ago? You will either bow to Him now and be saved from your sins, or you will bow later, when you have to admit you were wrong to reject Him. (Philippians 2:9-11)

Tomorrow, I intend to read Revelation 3-4.
