We Do Not Lost Heart
Paul is confident in his assertion that we do not lose heart, because he knows the key to the overcoming, victorious life. (II Corinthians 4:16) Those who do not know this truth will lose heart, but that is not God's will for any believer.
Life is a great challenge every day. Our body, our outward man, is perishing. In other words, our bodies break down, and we have physical needs that get greater and greater the longer we live. Then, there are the normal problems of life thrown on top of the physical needs. This could wear us down, and cause us to want to lose heart and give up. We could get depressed about the deterioration of our body. Of course, we know that God did not intend for that to happen to His children. He wants us to be conquerors and live in victory.
The key is that we must renew the inward man day by day. Every day we must nourish our spirit and soul with the food of the Word of God and the living water that comes from the Lord. We must breathe deeply in prayer, as we talk with God about everything in our lives. Then, our inward man is renewed every day. When a new day comes, we are ready to face it, even if we are not feeling the best physically or maybe we are having other problems. The main thing is to renew the soul and spirit every day in our time with the Lord and all day long as we meditate on His Word and pray.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Corinthians 5-8.
