The Grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ
Jesus is rich. He owns everything in the universe. He created it, and it is all His. However, Jesus is love, so He always extends grace to all people. In fact, He extended the ultimate grace to us, when He came into this world to die for us. He became poor, so that we through His poverty could become rich beyond anything we can imagine. (II Corinthians 8:9) Now, that is grace to the maximum.
When Jesus came to earth. He was born in a stable, wrapped in clothes, and laid in a feeding trough. He never owned a home. He only took with Him what He could carry with Him. He wanted to be the Savior of all people, so he was determined to relate to everyone by His lifestyle and words. Then, He died naked on a cross, so we could have our sins forgiven by His sacrifice. His poverty was greater than most of us will ever have to experience. He did all of this because He loved us so much.
Then, we are saved by trusting Him as Lord and Savior. When we come to know Him, we are joint-heirs with Christ. What He owns, we own, too. We get to go to heaven for eternity and enjoy all of the riches of the most perfect place ever created. We truly become rich from the moment we are saved. We did not deserve any of that, but it all comes to us from the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Corinthians 9-12.
