Justice, Mercy, and Compassion for All
The Bible is very clear about how God expects us to treat other people. In fact, the prophet Zechariah gave us a a good summary. (Zechariah 7:9,10) It is important for all of us to remember these things.
Execute true justice. We must not play favorites or be prejudiced against certain people.
Show mercy and compassion. Everyone deserves some mercy, because we all sin. We all need compassion, because everyone desires to be loved.
Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien, or the poor. We must not take advantage of those who are the most vulnerable in our society.
Let none of you plan evil in his heart against his brother. God hates for anyone to plan evil against anyone else. That is the essence of evil itself. That is what the devil does.
Just think how the world would be different if everyone lived by these simple principles. That is God's will for us all.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Zechariah 8-10.
