Jesus is Coming Again
This last section of the book of Zechariah has so many verses that pertain to Jesus, both His first coming and His second coming. The prophet gave a clear picture of how He will return to the earth and what He will do. (Zechariah 14:4.9) It is amazing just to consider this great truth, especially since it could be sooner than we might think.
When Jesus descends from heaven to return to this earth, He will come back to the Mount of Olives. This is just what the angel said at the Ascension of Jesus. He told all of the disciples that the same Jesus would return just as He had left. (Acts 1:9-11) However, when He touches down on the Mount of Olives just outside of Jerusalem, the mountain will split, making a long valley running east and west to the seas. Remember how Ezekiel told us about this in chapter 47? Then, Jesus will proceed to set up His throne in Jerusalem to reign as the King over all of the earth for 1,000 years. There shall be no other gods, "The Lord is one," and His name is one. Jesus will be the only One who is worshiped, as all of the peoples of the earth stream to Jerusalem to worship Him with the Jews who all turn to Him as Lord and Savior. What a kingdom it will be! All the believers of all the ages will be there to reign with Christ, so we will get to see this tremendous time in the history of this earth, before we enter eternity with Christ. I pray that all of us know Him and are ready for this.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Malachi 1-4.
