7 Things God Hates

There is a short list of what God hates. Solomon gave it to us, and it is still true today, since God has not changed.(Proverbs 6:16-19) What do you think is on the list? Some of the things might surprise you, but we need at pay attention to all of them. It doesn't make sense for us to do anything God hates. If we do, we are just asking for a whooping.

Let me lay them out for us:

1. A proud look
2. A lying tongue
3. Hands that shed innocent blood
4. A heart that devises wicked plans
5. Feet that are swift in running to evil
6. A false witness who speaks lies
7. One who sows discord among brethren

Of course, I could give commentary on this list as to why God hates these things. However, let's just sum it up to say that each of these things are opposite to the character of our Holy God. He is the Author of righteousness, life, truth, and unity, so these things go against all He is. It is my prayer that we will hate these things, too, and eliminate them from our lives by God's power. Then, we can become more like God intends for us to be.
