Telling Our Story

Every believer has a story. We refer to it as a testimony sometimes. However, I now prefer to simply call it our story. It is the story of the great things God has done for us and how He had compassion on us. Jesus told the man who had been delivered from so many demons that his name was "Legion" to go back to his friends and tell his story.(Mark 5:19) We all need to do the same thing.

Yes, I know that the Gadarene demoniac, as we call him, had a miraculous story to tell of how he was delivered from the demons who caused him to be wild and miserable. The truth is that all of us have a miraculous story. Salvation is a miracle. Don't ever forget that! If you were 5 years old, when you trusted Christ, and He adopted you into His family, that was a miracle. If you were 50, and you had lived a terribly messed up life, that was a miracle. Both are fantastic.

The people who heard the story of the Gadarene demoniac marveled, and people will marvel when they hear your story. I have never heard another person's story that I did not marvel. It is a very touching moment to hear how God moved in their life to bring them to eternal and abundant life in Jesus. However, if we do not tell our story, no one will marvel, and they won't know that Jesus can do the same thing for them.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Mark 8-10.
