Why Be Upset?
David had as many problems and reasons to be discouraged as anybody, but he decided to put his hope in God, instead of being downcast.(Psalm 43:5) After all, if God is on our side, who can be against us? If He is taking care of us, everything will be alright. We must live in that hope, so that our soul is not burdened with care but buoyed by hope in Him.
Of course, if our hope is not in the Lord, we have no reason to be positive. We have every reason to be disquieted. Things are bleak for those who are trusting in anything else but the Lord Jesus Christ. I am not wanting to give false hope to anyone. Things do not always go well, and God's will is not always done. David's hope came from His faith in the Lord and the fact that He had seen God work in his life in so many ways. It was not a false, pie in the sky hope.
Therefore, make sure your hope is in Jesus Christ and let it show on your face. Praise Him with your mouth. Show everyone that He is your lord and the One who helps you. Depend on Him. and everything will be alright. Live a godly life in line with His Word, and He will work things out for you. If we know Christ, we have the most powerful and loving person in the universe on our side, and He is working all things together for good to those who love Him. I would say we should be lifted up, wouldn't you?
