Position Yourselves
There are some battles in our lives, as believers, that we do not have to fight, because the Lord fights for us. However, we still have to position ourselves as He directs us, so that we can stand still, and see His salvation, or deliverance.(II Chronicles 20:17) We can learn a lot from what God told King Jehoshaphat.
When God tells us that we will not have to fight a battle, but it will be His battle, we must take Him at His Word and do what He says. We still have to position ourselves in front of the enemy or engage the situation in our lives. However, when we are in position, then, God takes over. We see Him work in a miraculous way to solve our problem or defeat our enemy like He did for Judah and Jehoshaphat. We are not to be afraid or dismayed, because we trust Him. We are to stand strong knowing the Lord is with us.
I believe that is why Ephesians 6 speaks of standing against Satan and His forces in God's armor. If we use all of the armor and the weapons He has given us when we get saved, often, we will not have to fight, we will only need to position ourselves to stand firm against Satan's attack, and God will defeat him for us. At other times, we use the Sword of the Spirit, which is God's Word, or we use prayer to defeat Satan and His schemes. However, in any case we have to have faith enough to position ourselves where God directs. Then, He brings the victory.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Chronicles 22-24.
