Having a Heart Loyal to God
Asa won a great victory over a multitude when he trusted God, but the next time he was attacked, he trusted in the king of Syria. God was very displeased, so he had wars the rest of his life.(II Chronicles 16:9) Having a heart that is loyal to God is very important in our relationship with Him.
God is always looking for those who have a heart loyal to Him, so He can show Himself strong on their behalf. We do not have to go looking for Him. He is looking for us, if we will just have a loyal heart. Think about it. What if you were loyal to your spouse one day a week, but the rest of the time you had an unfaithful heart and actions? Would that make for a good relationship? Of course, it would not. The same is true for the Lord, and He knows our hearts. He asks for us to be loyal to Him forever, always trusting Him and not wavering.
You can set your heart on trusting the Lord all of the time, but it is up to you. You will never know the strength of the Lord in your life, until you have a consistently loyal heart.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Chronicles 19-21.
