God's Blessing on David's Family
I believe we can learn from God's blessing on David's family.(I Chronicles 17:27) It could help our families receive God's blessings, too. God loves the family. He created it, and He wants to bless families. If your family is being blessed by God, it makes a huge difference.
David was a man after God's heart. He was not perfect. However, he longed to please God, and when he failed, he confessed his sins, so that God forgave him. God was so pleased with David that He promised to bless his "house" or his family forever. That is amazing, but it is true. God said that as long as his descendants were faithful, one of them would be king over Israel forever. Unfortunately, some of them were unfaithful, so God took the people into exile in Babylon. However, God did not forsake David's family. He sent Jesus, the Messiah, into the world as a descendant of David, and Christ is King over all creation. He will reign on the earth 1,000 years at the end of this world. Then, He will reign forever, just like the Lord promised David.
What can God accomplish through your family? You will never know until your heart is set on God like David's was. Then, God will communicate how He wants to work in you and in your family. All through the ages God has made it a practice to bless the families of those who are faithful to Him. Let's set our hearts on the Lord, pray for our families, and see what God wants to do to bless us.
Tomorrow, I intend to read I Chronicles 20-22.
