The Prophecy Against Tyre

There are many prophecies in the Bible, and they all come true 100% of the time. This is a huge evidence for the inerrancy of the Bible. It is also something that raises many objections from liberal theologians and non-believers. Ezekiel 26:14 is one of the disputed prophecies. The problems come when people do not read the whole context and understand exactly what the Bible is saying. Let's look at this a little.

The people who do not believe this prophecy came true base it on the belief that the destruction of Tyre had to come through an attack by Nebuchadnezzar. However, Ezekiel 26:4 says God will cause "many nations" to come against Tyre. Therefore, the truth is that Nebuchadnezzar did attack Tyre. He killed many people and destroyed the old city of Tyre, which was further inland. The complete destruction came much later.

Tyre was completely destroyed by Alexander the Great in 332 BC, after he built a long ramp and a siege wall to enter the city. then, other countries came against them also, until about 1221 AD when all of the city was gone. Today, the fishermen do spread their nets on this old location of Tyre just as God said.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Ezekiel 28-30.
