God Can Hear, but He Will Not Hear

Isaiah 59 is a sobering chapter. I would challenge all of us to read it and meditate on what it is saying to us. Realize that our sins separate us from God, if we are unwilling to deal with them in confession and repentance.(Isaiah 59:1,2) God will not listen to us, if we want to talk about other things, but we ignore our sins.

God is holy. He has nothing to do with sin. He gave us the choice of whether to sin or not, so we could choose to love Him and live by faith in Him. Without choice our relationship would be meaningless. Once we see our sins for what they are, we must trust Christ to forgive our sins, since He is the Lord who died for our sins and rose again to show His triumph over them and Satan. After that, we are not free to sin more because we are forgiven. We are saved from sin, not to sin. We need to confess our sins and repent of them, so that we can continue in a close relationship with the Lord.(I John 1:9)

If your prayers are not getting through to God. If you know He is not listening to what you are saying. Ask Him to show you what sins are separating you from Him. Then, confess those sins and repent of them, so that He will hear you, and so that you can walk with Him closely. He doesn't relate to us in any other terms than those.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 62-64.
