Bringing the Good News
We need to hear more good news today. There is more than enough bad news. We hear it all of the time from all sorts of people. God wants us, as believers, to be the ones who bring the Good News to everyone in this world.(Isaiah 52:7) We have the best news of all.
We need to let people know that they can have peace through the Prince of Peace. We need to share with folks all of the good things or benefits of knowing the Lord. People do not understand salvation by grace through faith in Christ. We have experienced it, so we are the ones to share how it works. Finally, we are to let people around us know that Our God reigns. He is in control. Isn't that great news?
Believers are those who are perceived to be against things. I know that is a false perception presented by the media in many cases, but it also has some truth to it. I agree with those who say that we need to be known more for what we are and what we believe than what we are against. We can do that by being people who bring the good news, the good tidings of salvation and the reign of God. After all, Jesus's love for us and His death and resurrection to set us free is the best news of all. We can't force people to trust Him, but we can give them the good news of Jesus.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 53-55.
