Don't Know How to Blush
Jeremiah 6:15 is a verse that shows that the USA is at the same place morally as Jerusalem and Judah were when God decided to punish them severely by sending the Babylonians to destroy all but a remnant of the people. The people were not at all ashamed of their sins. Jeremiah said that they did not know how to blush. What a statement!
When we blush, it is an involuntary response to being ashamed of something we don't want to admit about ourselves. It is something that happens when we see something we know we are not supposed to be seeing. It is not something we learn to do. It just happens. However, the people of the Lord had become so hardened toward sins that they did not blush any more. They could not even fake it or learn to blush at sin. They were desensitized to sin. That is the point at which we find ourselves in the USA today. Things in the media that would have caused us to blush and turn it off, do not even bring a tinge of conviction. This is a very serious state to be in spiritually. When will God decide to punish America severely? I do not know. I am not a prophet. However, we need to pray for a great revival. That is the only hope for America.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Jeremiah 7-9.
