Correcting God

I know that most of us would not directly come out and tell God that He has no understanding. We know in our minds that He is All-Knowing and All-Wise. However, when we pray, do we catch ourselves explaining things to God, like He doesn't understand? Do we ask God "why" because we think He has done something wrong or allowed something wrong to happen? If we do these things, we are really falling into the trap of correcting God.(Isaiah 29:16)

We are the created being; He is the Creator of all. We are subject to Him; He does not have to do what we want. We are the clay; He is the Potter. He has the power to make us into anything He desires, but He is waiting for us to listen and to honor Him as the Creator, instead of thinking we know more than He does.

It comes down to submission. That is hard for us. We would rather be in control than submit to anyone most of the time. That is a fatal flaw, when it causes us not to listen to the Lord and to try to correct Him on things. We have things turned around then. We need to get it all back into the proper perspective. We need to sit at His feet, admit that He has all understanding, and ask Him to give us the correct view of things. Then, we can line up with His will, instead of asking Him to line up with ours.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 30-32.
