Walking in the Truth

John showed his heart in III John 4. John's heart was not on Himself. One of his greatest joys came from seeing his children walk in the truth. I am sure he was referring to his physical children, but it also meant his spiritual children. During this Christmas season, we all should have this perspective.

What brings you joy at Christmas? Is it just gifts and traditions? I hope it is much more than that. When we see our children living for Jesus, the Truth, it should bring us great joy. Then, we know they are on the right track, and God can bless them abundantly. This is so much more important than money and possessions. Also, how are the ones we have led to the Lord doing, our spiritual children? Are they on track, walking in the truth, or are they wandering in falsehoods? It should break our hearts to see them floundering, and it should lead us to care enough to see them restored in their walk with the Lord. Being spiritual parents has responsibilities, too.

I pray that we can all look around us this Christmas and see our children walking in the truth. I know that will bring us greater joy than anything else we will do.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Revelation 1-3.
