Jesus is Knocking
Can you hear it? It is not Santa Claus coming down the chimney. It is Jesus knocking at your door. What are you going to do? Are you going to focus on the presents or let Him in? The guy in the red suit is not coming, but Jesus is there right now. I hope you have already responded to His knock and spent some time in fellowship with Him.(Revelation 3:20) If not, please let Him in now. He is waiting for you.
I do not think this verse is referring to salvation, even though my pastor used it the morning I was saved to call people to trust Christ. This verse is a call to the luke-warm Christians, who have their eyes on money, possessions, and physical health. Read the whole passage. Jesus is calling for all of us to get the really good stuff like salvation, righteousness, and spiritual sight from Him. That can only happen when we have a close personal relationship with Him. That is why He is knocking. He longs to come in and dine with each of us on a daily basis, so He can impart His blessings. Believe me, there is no comparison between Santa Claus and Jesus. Give up the illusions of this world and grasp the reality of eternity with Jesus.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Revelation 4-5.
