Blessed Rest
Heaven is not going to be a place where we will be idle, but it will be a place where we will be blessed, and we will rest. All who trust Christ as Lord and Savior will live in heaven with the Lord for eternity. Just to be in heaven will be a blessing beyond description, but there will be other blessings as well. The works we did for the Lord in His power will be remembered, so that they will follow us for eternity.(Revelation 14:13) I am not sure how the Lord is going to do that, but the Bible affirms this truth in many places, even talking about crowns and rewards.
As we prepare for the New Year, please remember that how we live matters for eternity. Yes, it is tiring to live the Christian life in serving the Lord and other people. However, rest is coming. Don't give up, just go in the strength of the Lord, knowing that He will give us rest in heaven. Also, the works are not easy. We have to be intentional to live for the Lord and to do His will. However, it is very important to accomplish what He has laid out for us to do, because it will follow us for eternity. We will be known for eternity by what we allowed the Lord to do through us here in this life. Therefore, let's make the commitment to keep our hands to the plow and never stop serving Him, until we see Him face to face, and rest with Him.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Revelation 15-17.
