You are the Lord, You Alone!
Hezekiah's prayer in Isaiah 37 :20 is a classic. We would all do well to pray in this way. I want to challenge each of us to pray this type of prayer today.
Who is your enemy, or who are your enemies? What is happening in your life, over which you have no control? If you think you are powerful to overcome them by yourself, you are being foolish. Without the Lord, we can do nothing.(John 15:5) He is the Lord, so He is the only one in control of everything. Don't try to be the Lord of your own life. Where does that lead you?
Let's all stop and pray for the Lord to save us from our enemies and to deliver us from the difficulties in our lives in such a way that the whole world around us will see that He alone is the Lord. That was Hezekiah's prayer, and God honored it by answering it. I believe, if we have the same kind of faith in the Lord Jesus, and we want Him to receive the glory, He will deliver us in His way.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 38-40.
