Peace

God's peace is a precious gift. It is not simply the absence of conflict or stress. Peace is a tangible state of contentment that comes from being right with God. It is the result of doing His will.(Isaiah 48:18)

God told the people of Israel that if they had heeded His commandments that their peace would have been like a river. Have you ever sang that simple chorus, "I've Got Peace Like A River"? It has a wonderful message that is from Isaiah 48. God's peace flows down to those who follow Him, and then, it flows through us to others. It is abundant, no matter the circumstances in our lives.

However, God told Isaiah another message about peace in Isaiah 48:22, "There is no peace," says the Lord, "for the wicked." Those who are not right with God have no sense of security in the Lord. They have no contentment, so they are constantly searching for happiness, and they are trying to escape reality by numbing the pain in various ways. It is totally opposite to the life of those who know the Lord, and obey Him.
