This is Man's All
Solomon ended the book of Ecclesiastes with the conclusion of all of his research about the meaning of life on earth.(Ecclesiastes 12:13,14) It would do us all well to listen closely to what the wisest man to ever live found out. We may be climbing the mountain of life only to find out at the end of our lives that we have been climbing the wrong mountain. Please, don't let that happen to you.
Man's all is to fear God and to keep His commandments. Why is that? Because God is love, and He is our Creator, so He cares more for us than we care for ourselves, and He knows what is best for us, better than we do. Therefore, He has laid out the way of life to be to totally trust Him in reverent fear of His awesome power and to follow His loving commands for our lives. Then, we will have real life.
Since He knows human nature, He added a little incentive, too. Every one of our works, whether secret or good or evil will be brought to judgment, too. After we die, we will stand before Him and give an account of how we lived our lives. We may want to complain about how He treated us, but that will be futile. He will simply explain to us that everything would have been fine, if we had feared Him and kept His commandments. We will have nothing to say at that point, so let's just do it the right way now.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Song of Solomon 3-5.
