Love Never Fails
Song of Solomon affirms in a very poetic way the same message as I Corinthians 13, "love never fails."(Song of Solomon 8:7) If you have ever proclaimed that your love for another person has died, or it is gone, you do not know real love. There is nothing that can quench true love, and there is no price that could be paid to buy it. It is a choice that lasts because it is based on an unconditional commitment.
We throw the word love around a lot. We love ice cream, pizza, movies, etc. That is not love. Love is a relationship in which one person makes a commitment to honor another person by putting them first, ahead of themselves, so that they meet their needs and do everything they can to make them fulfilled in life. It is unselfish and unconditional, because it comes from God, who is love, and that is His nature. Let's make sure that we use the word love correctly, and we let people know that true love never fails, no matter what this world around us might say.
If you have trouble with love, you have trouble with God. It is a heart problem. Trust Christ, by turning from sin and giving yourself fully to Him as Lord of your life. His love will fill you as the Holy Spirit invades your heart, and you will be able to share it freely with anyone around you as abundantly as you choose. It is glorious, even though at times, it is painful.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 1-3.
