Public Faith

I want all of you to get up and go to worship with believers at a church building this morning. God always blesses us when we worship Him, and we do not forsake our assembling together. However, there is an even greater blessing laid up for those who have "public faith." (Psalm 31:19)

It is relatively easy to show our trust in God when we are in a group of believers. How do you express your trust in God in front of unbelievers? That is the test of true faith. That is the kind of faith that God truly showers with His goodness.

Once we trust Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives, we are His, and our sins are forgiven. However, the need for faith does not stop. Then, we trust Him to be His witnesses to a dying world, so that multitudes can come to know the same forgiveness in Christ. Faith that doesn't stand up in public doesn't honor the heart of God for the rest of the world. He gave us the "Great Commission" for a reason. Matthew 28:19,20 is the marching orders for all Christians, and it takes public faith to fulfill it. God smiles on us when we have faith in the face of opposition, ridicule, and even persecution, so that we feel His favor in an extreme way. I urge all of us to have true public faith.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 32-34.
