Stay Ready For Eternity
My verse for today is Luke 12:40. It is an admonition to be ready, because we do not know when Jesus will come again. He will come when we do not expect Him, unless we are in tune with God, and we are ready to go at any time.
This is true of Jesus' coming in the rapture, and it is true for us going to be with Him when we die. It is absolutely essential that we are ready for eternity all of the time. We never know when we will step from this life into the eternal realm, and there are no second chances after we die. The moment our heart stops or the moment the trumpet sounds for His coming, we are either ready or not. We need to stay ready.
To be ready for eternity is to know Jesus in a personal love relationship. He is the Only Way to the Father and to heaven. If you do not know Him, I urge you to trust Him as Lord and Savior of your life right now. Listen to what the Spirit is saying, and respond in faith to His call. It means life or death for eternity.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Luke 13-16.
