Another Answered Prayer
God answers our prayers in many different ways. I am not talking about his answer being yes, no, or wait. That is true, but it is not what I mean. He causes the answer to our prayers to happen in many different ways. Sometimes, He works a miracle. However, I do not believe He does that as often as He works through other channels. If He was always working miracles, then miracles would be normal, and the regular ways would be abnormal. I don't think He wants to change normal, unless it is completely necessary. This does not limit God, though, because He is so wise and powerful. He has many options.
Last night before Lori, Jeff, Kade, and Avenly left, we had a prayer time with them. One of the things for which we prayed was for their safety on the long trip to Texas. God answered our prayer. They made it to Texas safely, but not without a scary incident. They had a blow-out in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere. Jeff was able to get to a rest area, but not to a truck stop. They had to call 911, because the spare tire was flat. Then, once they got air in it, they were back on their way.
If the tire which blew out had been on the front of the car, they could have had a bad accident. The tire was on the rear, because Jeff had the tires rotated before they left. He did this even though they were not ready to be rotated for enough miles to get them to Texas. He just felt that he should go ahead and have it done anyway. His decision brought about their safety. You might say, "How is that an answer to prayer?" In this case God answered the prayer before it was prayed. He knew we would pray for their safety, because He knows everything. He did not need to work a miracle, because Jeff had listened to His prompting. Therefore, He answered it in advance by prompting Jeff to get the tires rotated. What a wonderful God we serve! Don't ever stop praying, and don't ever doubt His desire and ability to answer your prayers.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Zechariah 13-14 and Revelation 21.
