What God Wants
We all have things that we want. It is just part of being a person with a will to do what is on our heart. There are some things that we want but we can never have them. This is true for various reasons. Some things that we want are not under our control. Other things we want are beyond our ability to achieve or our ability to afford. However, we can still continue to want those things.
I am glad that the Bible tells us what God wants. It gives us a great insight into His heart, when we can see what the Creator and the Sustainer of the universe wants. (I Timothy 3,4) God, our Savior, wants all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. This want is expressed in His Word in many different passages like John 3:16. Truly God loves all of us, and He wants all of us to be saved from our sins.
This is definitely the desire of God's heart, but it is not fully under His control. When God created the angels and the first people, He designed both groups with the quality of a free will. Lucifer and one third of the angels chose to rebel against God, and they were thrown out of heaven with no way of being saved from that sin. God gave the same choice to people, but He made a way for people to be saved from their sins.
God's way of salvation was to send Jesus to become the God/Man and die for our sins, so that anyone who would turn from their sins and put their trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior would be saved from all their sins. That is what God wants, but He can't do our part, and He won't do our part, since He desires for us to choose to love Him and trust Him. When any person decides to trust Jesus, there is a huge party in heaven because God gets part of what He wants. However, sadly, some people will never make that decision and fulfill God's desire.
