Answering to God
When we have to answer a question, we have to consider the person who is asking that question. If it is a child, we need to give a simplified answer. If it is a professor, we need to give a detailed answer with a lot of facts. If the question is asked by a stranger, we will probably not include as many details. However, when it is God who is asking the question, we need to be very careful how we answer Him.
The Bible tells us what to consider when we have to give an answer to God. (Hebrews 4:13) We need to remember that there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him to whom we must answer. I would say we need to think about this now, so we are ready when we stand before Him in the time of judgment.
When we answer God, we need to remember that there is nothing that has ever happened to us that He did not see with His own supernatural eyes. He saw every detail, so when we answer we can't conveniently leave out certain facts of which we might be ashamed or want to hide. If we try to do that, He will surely bring them up. Therefore, we must be fully transparent with God, even if He will be disappointed in us.
Also, He knows our motives, the reasons why we did what we did. All of our motivations are open and laid bare to Him. We can't make excuses. We can't claim that we really didn't mean to do what we did, if that is not the case. He will weigh the motives plus the acts, so we will have to come clean before our God. This should make us very careful about what we say and do, because we will give an answer to Him one day.
