Directing Our Ways
We all have to decide the direction we will go in our life. It is like driving a car. We use the steering wheel, so we can direct the car to the right or to the left. We use the gas pedal to direct the car to go slower of faster. We use the brake to direct the car to stop. In life, we are the one who directs the way we will go.
Jotham became a successful king in Judah, because of one thing he did. (II Chronicles 27:6) Jotham became powerful because he directed his ways before the Lord his God. Jotham took control of his life and directed whatever he did before the Lord. He made sure that what he did was pleasing in the eyes of the Lord.
I know we can't live in our own power and be successful and powerful. I know it takes the Lord directing our life and giving us His power. However, God will not do that for us, unless we direct our life before Him. We have to make the determination that everything we do will be done before the Lord, not hiding anything and going in His way, not the wrong way.
When we do that we will gain power from the blessings of the Lord. He will bless us, because He sees all we are doing, and He knows we want to honor Him in all we do. We want Him to see that we are following His ways, not our own ways. I pray we will all direct our lives before the Lord like Jotham did.
