Don't Make Excuses, Get to Work

Many people feel like they deserve more in life than what they have been given so far. Some of them feel like they are victims of their family backgrounds and that is holding them back. Others, feel like they are being discriminated against and treated unfairly, so that is why they can't have what they desire. Whatever the reasons, they don't move forward because of excuses, so they never have more.

This is how the sons of Joseph felt after they received their allotment of land in Canaan from Joshua. However, Joshua had a solution for them. (Joshua 17:18) He told them that the Hill Country would be theirs. Though it was a forest, they could clear the trees and have all of it to its farthest borders. They could also drive out the Canaanites, even though they were strong and had iron chariots. It was just a matter of getting to work with God's help.

As believers, we are always able to call on the Lord to help us have what we need for ourselves and our families. Sometimes He provides it for us in a supernatural way, but that is not His normal practice. Most of the time He empowers us to work hard and to achieve what we need through our efforts. That way we appreciate what we have, and we know the value of it.

We must never make excuses as to why we can't do God's will. If God is leading us to do something, or if He has commanded us to do something, He will provide for us one way or the other. Therefore, what we need is always possible. We must remain positive, without making excuses, and do what God shows us to do. Then, we will have all we need and even more.
