Be Strong and Very Courageous

Being a leader is difficult. I know many of us don't think of ourselves as leaders, but we are all leaders of someone or some group of people. It is important that we do not wimp out on our responsibility. We must decide to stand up for what is right and to be brave when the situation calls for it. God will bless us when we take that path.

When Joshua took over the leadership of Israel from Moses, God had some specific commands for him. (Joshua 1:7) He commanded Joshua to be strong and very courageous. He also commanded him to be careful to do according to all the Law which Moses had commanded them, not turning from it to the right or to the left. Then, Joshua would achieve success wherever he went. We can all learn from this verse.

Being strong and very courageous depends on us. We have to choose to be strong and not let others control us. We have to not be defeated by fear of others or the unknown. Believe me, there is strength and courage in us, if we know the Lord, and we have His Spirit in us. We just have to let the Spirit supply it for us.

Then, we have to follow God's Word. That is what we have to use to lead us and others. We must not try to change it in any way. God's Word is our light. It is our foundation for all we do. As long as we stick to God's Word, we will have success in our leadership everywhere we go. So, don't be shy and retreat. Be strong and very courageous for the Lord.
