Acting and Speaking for God
I believe that most of us, as Christians, do not feel very important. We do not think we have the authority or the ability to speak with others about the things of God with any power. However, that is not right. Jesus commanded us to go and to "make disciples" of all kinds of people. He said this in His authority, and He sent us to do and to say what He would say so we can see people come to Christ and grow in their walk with God. (Matthew 28:18-20)
God told Moses something similar to this when He sent him to give God's commands to Pharaoh. (Exodus 7:1) The Lord said to Moses, "I have made you as God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron shall be your prophet." Now, that is a huge responsibility to act and to speak as God to the king of a powerful country. Moses did not feel qualified, but he was, and God used him. He can do the same for us.
Most of the people around us every day do not know the Lord. They do not think about the things of God. Yes, God is speaking to their hearts, and He is revealing Himself to them in various ways, but often, they are not listening. That is why God sends us to them. We are to be His hands and feet to show them what God has done and what He wants to do for them.
For this to happen, we have to spend time with the Lord in prayer, asking God to show us who we should go to and what we should say. Then, we go as God's ambassadors. We represent God to them, Yes, they know we are believers, and they expect us to be different. We need to be the ones who say what God wants them to know, so they can come to the Lord through our witness.
