The Glory of the Lord Appeared

When we see someone who is beautiful, their beauty grabs our attention. The same type of thing happens when we see someone who is very strong. Their strength is amazing to us normal people. However, when we see the Lord, we are overwhelmed by His glory. There is nothing like the glory of the Lord.

The people of Israel were able to behold the glory of the Lord in the wilderness as the left Egypt. He showed Himself to them once after they complained that they did not have enough food to eat. (Exodus 16:10) It came about after Aaron spoke to the entire congregation of the people of Israel that they looked toward the wilderness, and behold the glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud. Just imagine what that was like.

God's glory is the sum total of who He is. Of course, we know that God is All-powerful and All-wise. He is completely holy, and His nature is pure love. The Father doesn't have a physical body, but He is a Person, which is hard for us to imagine. However, His glory is evident to all who encounter His presence.

When Jesus came to earth, He was full of this glory, since He was God in human flesh. He came to show us the glory of God in all that He said and did. His power was seen every time He cast out a demon. His love was on display each time He healed a person. When He answered His critics, His wisdom shone forth. People were stunned by His glory, and they put their trust in Him as the Lord of all.
