Once and Forever

Sometimes, we can promise we can do something one time, but how many of us can promise to be able to do something forever? That promise is not able to be made by any human being. We are fallible, and we are limited in what we can do the older we get. However, Jesus is just the opposite. He can do whatever He wants both once and forever. What a blessing!

The Bible makes this very clear to us. (Hebrews 7:24,25) Because Jesus lives forever, His priesthood lasts forever. Therefore, He is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through Him. He lives forever to intercede to God on their behalf. Now that is a powerful promise, and it gives us such hope.

Jesus is our forever High Priest. He came to earth to become the God/Man, so He could stand between the Father and us to bring us to God by His death and resurrection. When we come to Him in repentance and faith, we are made right with God at that very instant. He forgives our sins, and we are adopted into the family of God.

However, salvation is not just a "one time," once kind of thing. Jesus saves us forever, and He continues to pray to the Father for us every day. He is there to help us all the way to eternity in heaven. He continues to bring us to the Father, so we can walk in fellowship with Him forever. What a glorious Servant Savior and Lord we have in Jesus!
