Like Morning Fog
Every morning I walk and pray while it is still dark. On some cool mornings there is a fog that hangs low over the fields. It is beautiful, but soon after the sun rises, it is gone. It is an example of brevity.
James uses the morning fog to teach us about life. (James 4:14) He said, " How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog - it's here a little while, then it's gone." This should help us live better.
Since we are uncertain about what will happen to us tomorrow, we should make the most of every day God gives us. We must not count on having time tomorrow. We must be diligent to do God's will today. We might stand before the Lord very soon.
Also, since we know life passes so quickly, and then our earthly life is gone, we should live with an urgency to make priorities for each day and do them diligently. We must not procrastinate in doing what is really important to God and us. Our waiting could cause us to miss an important opportunity.
