A Life Well Lived
How can we live in such a way that our life will accomplish that for which God created us? What do we have to do to make our life meaningful and pleasing to God? Yes, there are many factors that can be considered here. However, I believe there are a few that stick out. If we do not get them right, we will probably fail at the rest, too.
Paul gave his testimony to Timothy in his second letter to him, written right before his death. (II Timothy 4:7) Paul declared that he had fought the good fight, he had finished the race, and he had remained faithful through it all. I believe he got it right, and we should follow his example.
We need to make sure we are fighting for the things that are really good and true. Too many people put a lot of effort into things that are temporary and fleeting. The main thing is to do the work of the Lord, whatever it takes. We will have opposition, but we must be consistent in our efforts to stand for truth and to help others come to know Jesus.
Also, we must finish the course that God has laid out for our life. We must not do life our way. We must find His race for us and run it with endurance to the end. In both of these things we are to remain faithful to the Lord and His Word, no matter what. That is what Jesus did, and that is what we are called to do, too.
