Showing People Their Blindness
We live in a world today where many people are blind to the truth. In fact, many people do not even believe in truth. They think everything is relative and changeable. Those people really think they are the ones who see everything correctly, and the rest of us are the ones who are blind.
Jesus had the same problem when He came into this world. (John 9:39) Jesus said that He had entered into this world to render judgment. He came to give sight to the blind and to show those who thought they could see that they were blind. Of course, He was referring to spiritual sight and spiritual blindness when He said this.
We, as Christians, are here to do the same thing Jesus said in this verse. We are to give sight to the blind. Yes, I know, we can't save anyone from their sins, but we can show them the truth of God by our actions and our words, so they see clearly that God is real, and Jesus is Lord. Then, when they decide to trust in Jesus, they have spiritual sight by the power of the Spirit.
Also, we have the difficult task of showing those intellectuals and others who think they are so smart that what they think is not in line with reality. We don't need to argue with them, and we shouldn't try to force them or degrade them. We ought to use the Bible and simple logic to prove the realities of life and the Lord. Then, the light can come on for them, and they will see, so they can trust the Lord and be saved.
