Wisdom Verified

There are a lot of people today who claim to be wise. We can read what they to believe to be true wisdom in books and magazines, as well as on the Internet. Many of these people are very articulate and persuasive, but how are we to know if they are truly wise? There is one sure fire way to be sure.

Jesus gave us the way to verify God's wisdom. (Luke 7:35) Jesus said that wisdom is shown to be right by the lives of those who follow it. We have an old saying for this. The proof is in the pudding. We can't be sure about the wisdom of a person until we see them living it out and having a blessed life.

We can all read books about how to have a better life. Some of the books may even have been written by Christian authors. However, we can't be sure they are sharing God's wisdom unless we see the effects on their lives or unless we put their wisdom into practice ourselves. Then, the wisdom will be verified.

Of course, the only source of true wisdom is God, and He has revealed it to us in His Word, the Bible. Therefore, whenever  we are searching for wisdom, we must start with praying to God and reading the Bible. If we hear someone who is convincing, we need to compare their wisdom with the Bible. If they match, we can practice that wisdom and have it verified in our life.
