Accepting Our Message

We all have the tendency to take things people say to us personally. This makes us timid about sharing things that might be rejected by other people. This is a very bad thing when it comes to us, as Christians, sharing the message of the gospel with others. That is our message, and we are commanded to share it. So we need to learn something about this.

Jesus told His disciples what we need to know. (Luke 10:16) He told them that anyone who accepted their message, was also accepting Him, but anyone who rejected them was rejecting Him. Also, anyone who rejected Jesus was rejecting God who sent Him. This still applies to us, as disciples, today.

We are only the ones who share the message of Jesus. It is not our message, but it is His message which He gave to us to share. When someone accepts the gospel message, they are not accepting us. They are accepting Jesus, and they are saved by God not us. Then, we rejoice with them.

When we are rejected for sharing the gospel message, it is Jesus who is being rejected. There is no need for us to take it personally. We need to realize, it is between them and the Lord. It is not up to us to argue with them. Then, we need to know, if a person rejects Jesus, they are rejecting God, too, because Jesus is God who came to be with us.
