Giving Glory to God
I am afraid that most of us commit a very serious sin, and we do not even realize what we are doing. We go through our days, doing all of our tasks and enjoying the life we have, but we leave out one main thing that is very important. We fail to give God glory for everything we are and everything we have every day.
Jesus made this point after He healed the lepers. (Luke 17:17,18) Jesus asked, "Didn't I heal ten men? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?" I pray that we are not guilty of this sin, but that we will be careful to give glory to God all the time.
It is easy to think we are doing everything we do in our own intellect and strength. We are tempted to be proud for the money we make and the things we accomplish. This is especially true when others compliment us. However, in each case we should be quick to give a verbal witness to others and tell them it was all because of God.
Just take the times when we were healed from a disease or an injury. Did we give glory to God, or did we just think the doctor did the right thing or gave us the right medicine? If we got healed, it was by God's wisdom and by His power, not the ability of humans. Let's make it a practice to give glory to God for everything all day long. We will show God how thankful we are for Him and all He does for us.
