Don't Fear Rebels

Our world today is full of people who are rebelling against the Lord and everything the Bible says. They not only scoff at the things of God. They are vocal against the people of God, and they are doing everything they can to get us to stop sharing the truths about God and His Word. We must not let these rebels stop us.

That is what God told Ezekiel when He called him to be His prophet. (Ezekiel 2:6) God told Ezekiel not to fear them or their words. He said don't be afraid even though their threats surround you like nettles and briers and stinging scorpions. Don't be dismayed by their dark scowls, either, even though they are rebels. That is what we need to hear today.

Our culture in America today is working to get Christians to comply with their unbiblical beliefs and practices. They are throwing all kinds of words at us. They call us names, and they accuse us of being the problem with our country. Their threats are increasing all the time in an effort to overwhelm us and stop us from sharing the gospel and the truth of God.

It would be easy for us, as Christians, to be dismayed and to give up. We must not give up. We are the lights in this dark world. We are the salt for our society to preserve the truth. If we stay quiet, evil wins. If we do not act as the leaven of society to raise everyone up, our society will sink into apostacy. Let's never give up as we show the love of Christ to everyone around us.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Ezekiel 3-5.
