Mighty and Entirely Faithful

I have seen too many people who have become upset with God and quit trusting in Him. It breaks my heart that they do not understand the Lord and that they have come to that conclusion.  Most of the time the reason is that God didn't do what they asked Him to do for them. Other times, they are hurt by what another person has done to them, and they quit following the Lord. What a tragedy!

The psalmist had the correct view of the Lord, so we need to listen to what God told Him to tell us. (Psalm 89:8)  He knew the Lord of Heavens' Armies, and he knew there was no one as mighty as the Lord. He also saw that God was always entirely faithful. Let's think about those two things.

God is All-powerful, so there is nothing He can't do. He is holy, so He always does the right thing. When God doesn't do what we want, it is not because He is not powerful enough. It is not because He doesn't care. He is Lord. We do not tell Him what to do, but He answers us in a way that is right for us. We need to trust Him and not leave Him.

Yes, we can always trust God, because He is entirely faithful. He always does what He promised He would do. He never promised to say yes to all our prayers. He never said we would not have problems with people or trials. He allows those things to strengthen us, if we will trust Him. He is faithful in that He is always there with us when things go wrong and people mistreat us. He will walk with us and make it turn out for our good.
