Hate Evil

We all know that God is love. We are to love God and others, even our enemies. However, God makes it very clear that we are to hate evil and sin. It is just as damaging to us, as Christians, for us not to hate evil, as it is for us to not love God and others. I pray we can get this truth.

The psalmist saw this fact. (Psalm 97:10) He called out to those who love the Lord to hate evil. The reason is that God protects the lives of His godly people and rescues them from the power of the wicked. I hope we can all wee the correlation between these two things.

If we love the Lord, and thus, we love others whom He has made, we are doing well. The greatest commandment is to love the Lord with all out heart, mind, and soul, and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. However, if we just love the Lord and others, we might fall into sin, because we do not hate evil, too. When we have love and the hatred of evil, we are much more likely to obey the Lord.

Then, we are His godly people, and He will protect us. He will rescue us from the power of the wicked. However, if we don't hate evil, and we engage in sinful things, God will pour out His wrath on us, too, as well as those who don't know Him and are wicked. I pray we will decide to hate evil in any form.
