God's Reign
It does us all good to remember that God is the King of the universe. Yes, He reigns supreme over everything and everyone. We must never delude ourselves into thinking that we have any say so in how God runs the heavens and the earth. We are simply His subjects, even when He saves us and adopts us into His family forever. He is still King.
The psalmist presented this truth well. (Psalm 93:5) He let us all know that God's royal laws cannot change. His reign is holy forever and ever. I would say that sums it up very well. Therefore, what do we need to do based on these realities? Let's consider that now.
God's royal law is His Word. It cannot be changed. We must accept His Word as the laws of the King. We must never try to change them because our culture changes or because our views on a particular topic change. God never changes, and His Word stays the same, so we simply have to follow Him and His Word, not trying to change it.
Also, God's reign is holy. That means God is different from this world. He doesn't sin. He is not affected by sin. He reigns as a holy King, so He does everything perfectly, but He does it very differently from the ways we would do things or the world would do things. We need to get used to that because His reign is forever and ever.
